Our Top-of-the-Range system: Wadia 521 digital computer is the source and pre-amp in this OUTSTANDING system with a choice of our larger ATC active speakers (see Option: pull down menu).

Why Are Actives Best?

Because the drive units have been precisely tailored to perfectly match the internal amplifiers, just as the amplifiers have been to match the drive-units. (compared to a passive speaker which has a general design because it is not amplifier specific & vice versa)

There is an amplifier per drive-unit and an active filter. (compared to a passive filter which is energy inefficient even when speakers are bi-amplified)
 

Because the power amplifiers are built into the speaker enclosures, no extra amplifier, shelving racks nor speaker cable is required. WireWorld Starlight cable is provided as the link between your PC/Mac and Wadia. A 2m/pair of Townshend Audio DCT300 balanced cable connects the speakers to the Wadia.
