Why Are Actives Even Better?

Because the drive units have been precisely tailored to perfectly match the internal amplifiers, just as the amplifiers have been to match the drive-units. (compared to a passive speaker which has a general design because it is not amplifier specific & vice versa)

There is an amplifier per drive-unit and an active filter. (compared to a passive filter which is energy inefficient even when speakers are bi-amplified)
